One way to avoid burnout when working out is to focus on things that you enjoy doing like biking or hiking, rather than just focusing on your weight loss goals. Not only will it increase your likelihood of sticking with an exercise program, but also if you happen to lose weight in addition to getting more active then that’s even better!

Once you know that something is important to your success, figure out how to prioritize it. For example, are there certain times of day when you’re less tempted by sweets? If so, plan meals around those times. Do you tend to snack on junk food in front of your computer? Eliminate trips to vending machines or stock your desk with healthy snacks like nuts. If a lack of time makes workouts impossible, aim for 15 minutes of movement per day; a walk around the block counts (even if you end up going several miles). Or do some stretches while waiting in line at Starbucks. There’s no reason not to squeeze in fitness when it’s convenient!
